10 Men's Fall 2019 Style Essentials

What's up everybody? Its Jeff, your Style O.G. Today we're talking about the 10 style essentials you need for the fall. No doubt about it, the fall is the best time of the year for style. You get to wear almost everything in your closet. There are a lot of cornerstone pieces you can build your fall wardrobe around. And that's what I want to talk to you about in this post.

Here are 10 items you should build your fall style around. Be mindful that these are not the only ten things you should have but I think these are the building blocks to a great essential fall wardrobe. Also, with this list I'm going to give you an overall category and give you some subsets you can choose within each category, depending on what fits your style and body type.

1. Waist-length jackets

This is an indispendsible part of your fall wardrobe. These are great for layering; You can pull it on on or off. Depending on what your favorite style is, there are several to choose from. You can go with your denim trucker jacket, bomber jacket, or harrington jacket. The ones I'll be rocking most are the denim and underrated prep style harrington jackets. Those are the two I really love. But no matter which style you choose, you absolutely need one or two waist-length jackets.

2. Casual long sleeve shirts

These of course are indispensible. You can wear them by themselves when it's not too chilly, you can layer them underneath a jacket, and of course their are several to choose from depending on your style and body type. You can go with a henley, a fall classic - the flannel shirt, or the long sleeve polo, which I recommend.

3. Boots

There are many style to choose from and mine happens to be the work boot. It's very rugged and manly. You can wear the Chelsea boots, dress boots, Timberlands, etc. You can't go wrong but boots are definitely an essential this fall!

4. Bottoms - Textured pants

When the fall comes around I want you to pick a couple pairs of textured pants for when the weather drops. One of my favorites are courdoroys and you definitely can't go wrong with a classic pair of wool trousers. You can also grab a pair of twill pants. Having these textured pants adds some depth, warmth, and variety to your wardrobe.

5. Bottoms - Chinos

As some of you call me or already know, I am the King of the Chinos. I definitely love chinos year round. They're on that line between casual and dressy for when you don't want to wear jeans or trousers. In the fall I like to have more earth toned colors. I tend to go for darker colors like burgandy, rust, olive, and grey. As a bonus tip, get some mid to heavier weight chinos.

6. Sweaters

These are synomous with the fall. You have a wide range to choose from, whether you're talking about v-necks, cardigans, or zip sweaters. One of my favorites you'll see me layering or wearing by itself is the turtleneck. Sweaters are great for layering so make sure you grab a few for the fall.

7. Sweatshirts

This is closely related to the sweater but gives you more of an athletic feel. They're warm, versatile, and have that athletic look. They're much for versatile than you may think! They come in a wide range of colors and you can wear them with jeans, chinos, and much more.

8. Hoodies

Hoodies are no brainers and a go-to for younger and older guys alike. Make sure it's not overly baggy or big. You want it to fit well just like anything else in your closet.

9. Vest

You can wear it over a shirt or under a coat. They add texture, depth, and style. Flat iron vests are lighter and slimmer, and a great piece to have as the temperature drops so that's what I'll be rocking this season. You can also grab a puffer vest, it's a classic.

10. Scarves

Scarves add personality and keep the chill off your neck. It's a great accessory for personality and color to your look.

11. Overcoat

Young or old alike, everyone needs an overcoat. It's the one coat I think looks great on almost everybody. Dress it up, dress it down, wear it over a suit, a hoody, or a sweater. Whatever you do, make sure you grab one.

There you have it - my list of this year's ten fall essentials. Let me know in the comments what your go to is!
