How To Make Your Cologne Last Longer/Cologne Wearing Hacks

What's up? It's Jeff your Style O.G. and today we're talking about how to make your cologne last longer as well as some cologne wearing hacks. We already know that wearing cologne can become very costly. When you're spending between $20-$100s of dollars in fragrances, the money adds up. That's why I want to share with you some tips I've acquired to make it last longer and hacks for using it in creative ways to get more bang for your buck.

Let's get straight to it!

Tip #1: Store your cologne in a cool, dry place

Over time, heat and humidity break down your cologne making it less potent. So if you're using a less potent scent, none of the following hacks even matter.

Tip #2: Know the different concentrations of cologne while out buying your frangrances.

Men's cologne comes in two different concentrations. Eau de toilet is generally 5-10% perfume concentration while eau de parfum is generally 10-20% perfume concentration. Naturally the eau de parfum has a higher perfume concentration so the scent will last several hours longer. However, the tradeoff is it costs more.

Tip #3: Know the optimal time to apply the cologne

Apply right after you shower because your pores are more open, allowing it to seep into your skin and secondly, the moisture on your skin will help lock in the scent.

Tip #4: Apply unscented lotion to your skin prior to putting your cologne on

The moisture from the lotion helps lock in the scent, just as we talked about in tip #3.

Tip #5: Know where to apply your cologne

Pulse points are the best places to apply your fragrance. These are areas on your body that naturally emit heat. This helps to diffuse the cologne all over your body throughout the day, helping it last longer. Those pulse points are behind the ears, the base of the neck, the chest, wrists, and elbows. Only pick one or two points to apply the cologne.

You can also apply vaseline to the pulse points before spraying your cologne. Vaseline locks in the scent while the pulse point emits heat allowing the fragrance to last longer.

Tip #6: Reapply with cotton balls to refresh later in the day

Spray some cotton balls or makeup remover pads with your cologne and store them in a sandwich bag. This way, later in the day when your cologne is wearing off you can reapply on the go without having to carry the bottle with you.

Tip #7: Spray into the air and walk through for potent colognes

Use this when you have a strong cologne you love but don't want to smell potent throughout the day. This helps to tone it down a little bit.

Tip #8: Use the last of the bottle with unscented lotion

To get your money worth when the last of the cologne won't spray, just pour the remaining cologne in an unscented lotion bottle and apply.

Tip #9: Come up with your own custom scent

Layer your colognes, but make sure they compliment each other. Spray the stronoger one first then compliment it with a lighter one. Now you have your very own exclusive scent.

Tip #10: Establish a scent in your home

Spray some cologne on tissue paper and line your dresser drawers and linen closet with it. This will add a personal touch to your home and have visitors amazed by the scent.

Well, there you have it. Those are the colonge wearing hacks and tips to make your cologne last longer. Let me know in the comments if you try any of these and of course if you have any other tips and hacks to add to our list.
